Is ATR compatible
with our existing computer systems?
Yes, ATR can be installed on any existing computer system or network: windows
3.x, 95, 98 or NT, MAC, DOS or an INTRANET. It is a 'stand-alone' program.
How is the data kept up to
date?
Dedicated researchers in each state gather new information update content
and dates, and edit database every month.
How much does it cost?
It depends on where you install, the number of employees and the number of
training courses purchased. Most companies save many times their subscription
through time savings, comparative pricing and discounts.
How long has ATR been in business?
CEO and former CSIRO scientist, Dr Alan Aston, established the Australian
Training Register in 1990. The company continues to grow and upgrades to the
database contain features suggested by loyal users, some of whom have been
subscribers since ATR's inception.
How long will it take to learn
to use it?
It is simple and easy to use. We fully train you to use it in 15 minutes.
Can I start with a single
PC and upgrade to a network later?
Yes. You can install wherever it works best for you. You can change the installation
at any time, or upgrade to a network or Intranet whenever it suits you.
Is it reliable?
ATR is very reliable. It is written in Microsoft FoxPro which is a very stable
database program and is very widely used throughout the world.
Are other people in my position
using it?
Yes, there are over 2,500 installations. Key Human Resource and Training Managers,
General Managers, Divisional Managers use the service. In addition, more than
100,000 people within these organisations access the Register.
What happens if I need help
or have a problem?
We have a free 1800 Help Desk service available during business hours; there
are also State offices..
Do I pay for the monthly updates?
No. There is only one annual payment, which covers the initial installation
of program and data, plus monthly updates, plus any program upgrades. The
only additional charges are for extra training, new or re-installation.
